APPLE VALLEY, CA – The San Bernardino County Republican Party Central Committee announced its endorsement of Colonel Paul Cook (ret.) for California’s Eighth Congressional District (CD8). California’s CD8 covers large portions of San Bernardino County, including the High Desert, as well as all of Mono and Inyo counties.
Cook stated, “I’ve lived in San Bernardino County for over three decades now, and there’s no place I’d rather be. To have the endorsement of the GOP here tells me I’ve earned the trust of my neighbors.
“Our principles here – lower taxes, economic growth, and smaller government – will achieve greater prosperity for the most Americans. The Obama-era policy of tax more, spend more, depend more on government are proving once again to be complete failures. I want to continue fighting in Congress for workers and their families, and this San Bernardino County endorsement goes a long way toward helping me achieve that goal.”
Cook was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, winning a hotly contested race to represent CD8. He has distinguished himself by fighting to pass a balanced budget plan, strengthening America’s economy, and protecting Medicare for seniors. He also voted multiple times to defund, delay, and replace Obamacare. Cook serves on the Armed Services, Veterans, and Foreign Affairs committees in the House.
Cook served as an infantry officer and retired after 26 years as a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
