APPLE VALLEY - Colonel Paul Cook (ret.) announced that the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has endorsed him in his race for California's 8th Congressional District. The NBPC released the following statement:
"On behalf of the 16,500 Border Patrol Agents whom the National Border Patrol Council represents, we are pleased to announce our endorsement for Congressman Paul Cook of California's 8th District.
"Because of the Congressman's commitment to border security and the Agents who risk their lives every day to keep our borders safe, the National Border Patrol Council is happy to stand behind Congressman Cook and endorse him for re-election."
Cook stated, "The National Border Patrol Council walks the walk and talks the talk. These are the men and women out there every day, doing the real work on our national borders. I've always stood for real border security, and a seasoned group like the NBPC can sniff out the difference between someone who truly supports them and will help secure our borders, like myself, and someone who shouts about border security merely for publicity and attention. I'm absolutely honored to have their endorsement. Together, when I'm elected to Congress, we can keep moving toward improved border security."
